For the last seven years, it has been virtually impossible to speak of Bradesco without mentioning Luiz Carlos Trabuco in the same breath. This due to the fact that since his appointment as the Brazilian bank’s president in 2009, he has guided it through a period of consistent growth despite being faced with tough industry conditions on a few occasions. Now, his close to five-decade at the bank is set to continue for a lot longer as he takes over the position of chairman of the board from the outgoing Lazaro Brandao. Having been the vice chairman of the board for the last three years, Luiz Carlos Trabuco is expected to fit seamlessly into his new role. With Luiz Carlos Trabuco taking up the position of chairman, Bradesco will also have to select a new president.
