Michael Thoreau Lacey is an American mathematician, professor, and lecturer. Lacey received his PhD from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1987 and began his immaculate career at the Louisiana State University. His thesis was based on Banach Spaces where he solved a complex problem relating to the law of iterated logarithm for empirical characteristic functions. After graduating, he held a position at the University of North Carolina where he and Walter Philip developed a proof of the central limit theorem.
