Prestigious Noel Polk Lifetime Achievement Award Is Given To Robert Ivy

Robert Ivy is a Mississippi native who has earned the prestigious Noel Polk Lifetime Achievement Award that is given by the Mississippi Institute of Arts and Letters. This organization is often referred to as the MIAL for short and it is a non-profit that recognizing outstanding efforts and achievements for Mississippi natives. Some of the other recipients of this coveted award include the singer Leontyne Prince and the actor Morgan Freeman. Robert Ivy was a recipient of Noel Polk award because of his lifetime dedication towards architectural advancements that made architecture more accessible to people within the Mississippi communities. This is the first time in the history of the Polk award that an architect has been the recipient. Robert Ivy is the current Executive Vice President and Chief Executive Officer at the American Institute of Architects which is often referred to as the AIA. There are seven worldwide chapters of the American Institute of Architects and two newer chapters are in China and Canada. Prior to joining the AIA Robert Ivy was employed with McGraw Hill Publishing Company.
